International applicants are welcome
Our fellowship calls are issued in Portuguese, and the Portuguese text is the only official one. We don't publish English versions of the calls — a translation of a legal document would misstate it. This page tells you how to read them and who to write to.

Every open and past call sits on the Portuguese page, each with its official PDF. Machine translation is fine for orientation — dates, documents and scoring must be read in the original.
Most calls require an existing institutional link to the University of Brasília — enrolment in a UnB programme, or a formal affiliation. That is usually the step to solve before a fellowship call.
If anything in the call is unclear, or you want to know whether your profile fits, email the lab in English. We answer in English.
Applications go to lccmat@unb.br as PDFs, within the window stated in the call, in Brasília time. There is no application form.
A call for applications is a binding administrative document. Its wording sets deadlines to the hour, the exact documents that make an application valid, and the points each requirement is worth. An English version would have no legal standing, and any small drift in wording would create expectations we could not honour — so the honest thing is to keep one official text and help you read it.
What we do translate is everything around it: the research, the group, the infrastructure and the funding behind each position are all described in English on this site. And any question you have about a call, we answer in English, in writing, before you apply.

Undergraduate, master's, PhD or postdoc, and what you work on — DFT, molecular dynamics, machine learning, software for HPC. It's the fastest way for us to say whether a call fits you.
A normal academic CV in English is enough for a first conversation. Brazilian calls ask for a Currículo Lattes at submission time — we'll point you to it if it becomes relevant.
If you are not yet affiliated with UnB, ask us about it before a call opens — admission to a graduate programme and a fellowship call run on separate calendars.
